When I was applying for graphic design gigs 10 years ago it was mostly making the odd social media post and some print materials. Five years ago it was a bit more social focused, now they want you to know how to do graphic design, code, 3d modeling, ai prompting, video editing, social media marketing campaigns, email newsletters, etc. It’s not just economic decline, it’s the greed of employers turning the jobs of 4-5 people into one without raising the salary at all.
