Perspective from someone who does commissions and has shaky hands (for a number of reasons):
It took me a long time to find a way to find a way around the shakiness but I did it. Even if you don't find a way to make it work, there's charm and humanity in the work that you create. All those imperfections and flaws can be very appealing to others. It's still yours and I have seen styles where the entire point is that the lines are not perfect. They are shaky or crude or whatever word you want to throw in there. At the end of the day, it's still cool and you can do some amazing things even with a disability that can interrupt your work. Will it take you longer? Probably, but that is still truly yours. You put in the work and YOU made that. Everyone can see and appreciate that regardless of how "bad" you might think it is. Personally, I find my art horrendous half of the time. You are your own worst critic because you will find every little problem that everyone else doesn't even see, or that they find charming about it.
There will always - ALWAYS - be people who absolutely adore what you do regardless of what quality you think your work falls under. They may not say anything to you but they are there following you and your journey. It took me a long time to figure out that people do like what I create. I just didn't hear from them for a long time. It can be a bit disheartening before you realize that but they ARE there. For commissioners, the money you make isn't necessarily an indicator of how many people enjoy your work either. I once opened emergency commissions and got people messaging me about how they had been following me for years and hoped they could help. I didn't know, until then, that more people than I thought were interested in my work. That was before I figured out a way to work with the shakes rather than against them, too.
Regardless of what you may think of your own art or how you struggled to create it, people will have a deeper appreciation for something when they know someone put work into it. It doesn't really matter how long it takes you or how "perfect" it looks. That's not what people are looking for when it comes to art. What they want is something uniquely yours.
All that said, I really think it's insulting to claim that AI "art" is a way to help people who struggle. Let's not forget that there have been people who have used their mouths to draw, either for a challenge or out of necessity. For most situations I have seen mentioned as arguments, there are aids to counteract the problem for those who really want to change the way they draw. Even so, as I mentioned before, people are going to love what you do no matter what. If you you aren't even wanting to sell, the art isn't for them anyway. It's for you. Do what makes you happy and what you enjoy.
And to those who say they can't draw: if you are able to hold a pencil, pen, brush, etc, then you can. You just have to start putting in the work to find your own style. AI art isn't accessibility. It's lazy and effortless.
