I'm a disabled artist! I suffer from extreme back and knee pain and the joints in my hands will go numb or lock up when I am drawing. But I still draw, because my art is how I express myself and my interests and my pains, AI quite literally could never make art the way I do because AI is not me- even if AI was at a point that it was basically a person on its own (which at that point my worries would be less about the AI stealing art and more about... Does the AI have rights???) it would still be making art for my prompts based off its *own* life experience, or whatever the equivalent would be for an AI. Of course I am trying to stay unbiased in this comment but the truth of the matter is I am very anti-AI "art", I think AI should be doing things that help people have more time for themselves. I saw someone once say something along the lines of "I don't want AI to be making my art for me so I have more time to do the dishes, I want AI to do my dishes for me so I have more time to make art." and I think that is exactly how I feel about AI, it CAN be useful and has found uses in many things, but I truly do not believe art is one of the things it should have a hand in.
