In theory money represents the ability to control real world productivity.
Automation and AI increase productivity just the same way lathes and production lines replaced the job of artisans in the industrial revolution. The productivity per person will increase which is a good thing, but the system will need to change in order for this increase in productivity to be shared amongst the human population.
Some argue this is necessary as the population falls, we still need the economy to grow right? This could be the key to continuing growth.
