It’s already happening. My last employer laid off my whole team except for me, and my job was to manage the generative ai that now did my job and my several colleagues job. And that was because other similar companies were doing the same and they wanted to keep up with competition. Ai is being trained to do everything and I’ve seen it. I’ve attended meetings for my previous company where we were pitched an ai that was learning data entry, accounting, and mortgage underwriting. And it was pitched as a money saver for the company. That was a small, unheard of AI engine and that was over 2 years ago now.
Ai is also using our drinking water, our land, our energy. It’s taking our resources, too.
