The very most basic thing I have to say about AI art is this:
AI prompters do not go on an artistic journey. They do not develop *any* relationship with the composing of their works, and have no opinion on details or artifacts of creation. They are incapable of editing not because they lack the tools and ability, (and most of them do lack), but because they lack the eyes. They are unable to judge their work, or others.
Their pieces are not in conversation with any other work, despite hailing from so many, and often being told to directly plagiarize; If you tried to make an exhibition displaying the extents of a new style or technique, AI might well provide you with a lot of pieces within the style, but it does not once ever stretch the style. It provides filler pieces. Even something as simple as neo-plasticism finds AI itself, not just the prompters, unable to expand it. They simply do not enter into conversation.
I could perhaps be convinced of the existence of an artist who uses AI and who did go on an artistic journey, but of all the people defending AI art that I've ever seen or been exposed to, I can guarantee that they haven't, and that they literally *do not understand* what an artistic journey is.
