Bluster and posturing of an industry with no future. I would be shocked if we would not see LLM industry own collapse in less than 5 years. Mr. Amodei, tells the audience what is the revenue you produced vs the totality of the expenses you incurred? If you are feeling extra frisky, also mention how much of a discount you are getting for data center usage (which keeps the expenses lower than they normally would have been). An industry kept alive almost entirely by the colossal annual venture capital investment infusions. No LLM company have made a viable product with more than a niche utility, and more importantly, they are yet to get anywhere near any kind of profitability. Idea of hyper-scaling breaking the trend of exponential growth of LLM infrastructure costs is an article of faith that has not been vindicated by the reality. Once the venture capital stops subsidising this tech, it will rapidly disintegrate (though the fallout of this madness will be staggering) LLM is not as reliable as extant tools and is definitely not cheaper than the extant tools.
