I have a question though, devils advocate style. Humans all work from what's built by previous generations. If I go back far enough I will find someone like you somewhere somehow. Everything we know has been done before. Absolutely everything. So my question, do modern artists now have to pay everyone they are inspired by? This is why copyright is stupid and so are most people. Like, an example, you made something and it looks decent. Not good, decent. Someone else comes along, takes it verbatim and markets it better so more people see it and he earns more because of it. Should you get a cut? No! You should have learned marketing and protected your ip better! It sucks I know but this is how it works! Maybe it shouldn't work like this but that isn't the problem. The problem is it does and you refuse to adapt to it! You stomp and kick and yell stolen art while you could've marketed yours properly by learning how, protected your ip by not sharing it recklessly, and made a tone of profit losing nothing to no one. Another example, you marketed properly and the art was amazing. You made a shit ton of money and someone stole your ip in your words because you didn't protect it properly enough and they made pennies off of it. Do they owe you said pennies? Context he is a homeless man scraping by and you're middle class. Morally you say yes but realistically you don't care because you already broke even long before someone like him even showed upand him being homeless allowed you to let it slide. There is art stolen verbatim. There is plagiarism. Idc about that. All that should matter to anyone is the art being seen. Ill give it to you straight art isn't money. Money is business. Art isn't business. So should art make money? No art should change lives that's it's only purpose. Making it profitable is the ramblings of a child! If you wanna earn money learn a trade. Artistry is not a trade. Selling art is! But that's something they don't teach you now is it? Yes it is, try and look up marketing classes. And the thing about art needing soul is just how much effort you put in the details. Anyone can make a picasso but only picasso can make picassos picasso! My brush stroke isn't yours and that matters! I can use the same ai you can but only I have my ideas floating in my head my way! People say the devil is in the detail right? Well it's more like soul is hidden in the details. Because that saying devil in detail only works in terms of contracts! Written words. Deals made! Basically business! I'll end it on this note. I hate it when people only see problems and never look towards possibility and/or solutions! Our species got so far due to problem solving. Ai can really help us with that and none of you people are willing to see it that way. In this way all that we stand to gain is regression. Do you want dark ages back or something? Now I'm gonna get a little out there so if I didn't lose all of you here you go! I've said for over a decade that we can already have flying cars! We have the technology to get there already. We just need to put the right solutions together to get there! Same with infinite energy production. We can already get there. We just need the right motivation and the correct route. The only reason we didn't get there is because of fear! Fear for progress is one of those major factors. And this abject rejection of ai is because of said fear. Oh my privacy! Oh but mah job! My autonomy! My freedom! You stand to lose all of it if you're acting out of fear for losing it! Be more brave! Be more daring. But hey what do I know. I've just had a lense on people from the moment I was aware! TL;DR: Art is subjective so opinions don't really matter especially on AI! You do not know everything bad about AI not even close and your rejecting it basically for no good reason. The way forwards is to stop being afraid of what progress can do and instead try to make progress in a way you feel comfortable with! You're not gonna stop it so instead of complaining about it and pushing back, join in and do it better if you think you can! And if you tell me you won't because you can't shut the fuck up then!
