Short term gain will turn into long term pain, and I'm referring to the mega corps not just the little folk. I mean it's common sense really. Amazon automates all it's roles, those people no longer have jobs to buy things with. Other companies do it to. The economy will then shrink because lots of people will have far less money to spend with these companies and so the extra profits they generated by replacing humans with cheaper AI will start to ebb away in the form of lower sales.
