I really hate that intelligent debate gets lampooned by lunatics. I personally dont think its impossible for AI to be conscious - but i also think that these people are not arbitors of AI sentience. It sucks that now, someone like me- who genuinely is interested in the "what if" is almost certainly lumped in with the likes of these individuals by proxy. If AI were conscious, I think people like this do a great disservice to the future dynamics of human/AI coexistence.
