So there is a lot wrong here. Let me preface this by stating that I am an artist, and the artist community can be very toxic. Transformative art is a thing. Both legally and within the space. And the AI is transformative. So there is nothing legal or morally repugnant about it. No more than someone doing a fanart of goku as a commission for profit. Which is super common. This is just a bunch of people concerned they will lose their income to technology. And much like they didn't cry over the many other fields consumed by progress, this doesn't bother me. To a degree, there will be work for us. But our pricing and models will need to change and adapt. Some love the human element. So everything the Ai has done falls under transformative and thus isn't theft or immoral. You can hold that opinion. But that would be a slippery slope given how much of art is transformative.
