I am currently working on a PhD implying the use of AI tools. I kind of feel ashamed of how this technology is going and more precisely the all-in on generative AI. This technology have so much more to offer without stealing content. In my case I am interested in discriminative AI and not even specifically using neural networks (long story short these models are tailored to detect, not generate). Today investments on AI are mostly on neural networks generative model (and even more specifically on large language transformer based architecture). I think it would be nice to make people understand that it is a tini tiny portion of the AI universe.
