I am an artist. Here is my take on AI art. I think its a tool just like any other tool. Its just a new tool. I have gone on the Mid Journey Discord and I have generated a few dozen AI art images. Its fun to play around with and you can make some cool stuff with it. If I were to go to a convention and have big prints of my images, I don't see anything wrong with it. Why? Because you can actually be an AI artist and that is fine. But my one disclaimer is that if you are showing off your art, just be honest with people and say if its AI generated or if its done by hand. I have seen some wicked cool images made with Mid Journey. I think its an art form within its own right. However, if you want to have an art contest, then you can do so but you need to separate the AI art from human made art. In other words, you can't say I painted this when really it was generated by a computer. Now I have actually feed into an art generator some of my own art images and gotten some cool results. I see nothing wrong with this because I'm an artist and its cool to see another take on my own art works. To me these AI tools are good if you know how to use them. I am also a writer and I have talked to AI programs to get out my ideas. I am not using AI to write a book, I'm using it as brain storming so that it can clarify my own ideas so that I can write the book. Its all in how you use the tools.
