I do agree that the use of AI art is causing bad outcomes like the loss of jobs and such but what I don't agree with in this video is attacking ALL of the people that use AI to make images. AI is simply a tool that can be used in good and bad ways like many other tools (e.g. a knife) so attacking the tool and by proxy the many good, innocent people that use it is not the way to go about protesting the ill use of AI image generation. For example, what if someone can't draw and want an image in an unique art style or a combination of art styles not seen anywhere? I'm sure it sucks seeing an art style not being fully appreciated when used by an AI model but no one owns an art style, like how Fortnite doesn't own the entire genre of "Battle Royale". So should we deprive people of using a useful tool just because people are using it badly? I don't think so, we just need better regulations.
Moreover, at 8:24 she says that AI makes its images by Frankensteining art together when that is not the case. AI generates images by first using its data set to recognize patters using images related to the prompt and using that pattern recognition to make a prediction about what this certain prompt should look like and then produces it, making in more similar to how a human would make an inspired work instead of just being a really fast and smart photoshop machine which is not only why AI art doesn't look like a chuck-e-cheese pizza but also unable to be copyrighted since no human made the imagine and the image is completely original. Is the art it uses in its data set to learn stolen? That's a whole other debate and this comment is already way too long.
TL;DR: We shouldn't restrict innocent people from using a useful tool just because of the bad ways other people can use it and AI makes images based on pattern recognition and predictions, making it not stolen art.
