Medical diagnosis was what a lot of these algorithms were initially ment to do. You can train them on all the medical literature in existence. Much more then any one, or even team, of doctors could possibly remember; and, it can be constantly updated much faster then a human could read medical journals.
Plug in your patients symptoms, tests results and med history and the program comes up with a list of possible causes/diseases by likely hood to be tested for.
