I'd really like to know the numbers of people who think ai is amazing vs its critics, it feels like the critics are in the minority and i dont understand why. The problem is worse in the tech industry with coders, everybody is super excited for this technology and more eager to adopt and take a critical stance, the reality is that its taken an industry that once had quality and reliable at its core and totally undermined it in favour of "speed", neglecting to mention the increased amount of time taken to diagnose and fix the problems it creates. It seems like tech is coming for the last remains joys in life a person has, our creativity, the removal of a process where the process is important to discovery. Its also important to keep iterating on the point on the different types of ai out there, the snakeoil of generative ai and languages models are undermining genuinely useful applications of neural networks that dont take away from society. The comments about it helping disabled artists are offensive to me, its a very naive perspective, disability can be invisible and has no relationship with what creative output any person can accomplish.
