regardless, I do not think it can be conscious in a meaningful way i.e just like we are. There is a whole field of philosophy of mind. What comes to mind is John Searl's paper : Minds, Brains, and Programs. Though everything else is true it does not mean AI outputs are conscious based. It would be interesting if you could interviews a professor of philosophy who specializes on the study of "mind".
