This whole thing is absolutely insane. I’ve been an artist for 20+ years. Mulligan is talented and had a whole career that most artists nowadays can only dream of, and yet he goes and pulls this?? Like, even beyond the morals of it, does this guy not have an ounce of pride in his actual work? It’s pathetic behavior for a normal Joe much less an industry “professional” and reeks of insecurity regarding his original art. I pity him if he’s come so far and still feels like generating images with a computer algorithm is better than what he could accomplish on his own. (And if it’s about deadlines and speeding up the process, I still pity him, because it’s just feeding into a broken system that will punish those in the arts for putting care into what they do instead of churning out slop at the fastest most profitable speed possible.)
