The crazy thing about driverless vehicles is that driverless trains--which are WAY safer, as they can be on closed, grade-separated tracks--have already been around for years. If we had actual freight rail infrastructure we could move everything more cheaply and efficiently--and if we had any planning in our economy, that could free us up to do the jobs people actually WANT to do. Instead we treat people like drones, create miserable jobs, and invent actual drones to replace them. And the only ones who benefit are the bosses and technocrats.
