Alright, I'll try to be nice and understanding with you here but I have many things to say.
you are projecting your personal traumas on AI artists, this is no better than any other form of discrimination. hurt people hurt people and that's what you are doing here.
You do not understand serious AI artists and how we work. Not a surprise, though, there are very few of us around. The mass of it is basically the equivalent of a child finger painting with the medium. The serious ones experiment, learn their craft, learn their medium, AI has a strong grain, you can't make it do what you want all the time, you have to learn to talk to it, to use it right. It's not an easy thing, I've been at it since the begining and I'm still learning every day. To make 1 image or 1 song I often need full days of work, itterating, testing the prompt. I have a clear artistic intent, I do not accept vapid results. I'm also classically trained in art.
Accessibility is an issue and your take on it is abelist. Try drawing without a mental image, it's impossible. Not that we don't have ideas, but the proportions get wonky, the persepctive is off even if we know the theory, simply put the hand can't make it because the brain can't conceptualize it.
do not confound the mass of lazy users with the actual artists. To give you an example I wrote (by myself no AI) for the past 17 years my novel, learned the craft, found my voice. Now that I have that spine that's what I'm feeding to AI, give framing, composition, visual style, corrections art dirrection. We are acting exactly like art dirrector when we are doing well and that's art too. This is more like making a complex collage in the end, I'm adding 1.3 song per chapters (minimum 1 maximum 3 up to now, and I'll always have 1) 2 to 5 images per chapters +1 per song and I'm adding UI elements in the text (pixel art) when people are using their brain implants (it's a cyberpunk). I keep them coherent with the style, don't accept emotionless overglossed crap. I always try to make the images feel like real world objects like old vynil pockets with weathering, broken or scratched jewelled cd cases, paintings similar to what the Carravagio would make. My output volume is equivalent to a whole studio of professional, for a novel, this would be prohibitively costly to make, easily in the hundreds of millions of dollars. I'm making art that couldn't exist without AI.
I'm not competing with you' I'm making my own stuff, hell I have a marginal following. I'm hurting exactly 0 person.
this is real people you are attacking, not avatars of your fears. We are not soulless, our work when done well is not soulless because it has INTENT and personal lived experiences behind it. By dismissing what we are making when doing it seriously you are dismissing us not the AI.
I don't think you realize that the same ugly stuff was said about photoshop in the beginings. Guess what, people integrated it to art, found ways to express themselves through it, and so do a few in the AI sphere.
