You're giving these AIs too much credit. They're really not that game changing. From a software developer's point of view they have made it faster for me to get to an answer... the same way stackexchange used to... the same way Google and the web did before that... and before that a book. They're just another level of getting answers. They have no real intelligence. These people are just drunk on their own hype. That bloke is clearly wealthy enough now to do sod all all day so he can pontificate all he likes.
Wealthy people are pouring their money into something that's going to lose a load of money. For my tiny company I've just got a load of free knowledge at my finger tips. At the moment AI is a great leveller.
