I use colored chalk (pastels) and create portraits of people that are mistaken as photographs until the viewer gets up really close. A former pompous, arrogant friend of mine learned how to make screen savers, things like bubbles moving across the screen. He would then take screen shots of his screen savers and go to the copy store and have them printed onto to photo paper. Using his dad's connections, he got into art shows and sold some of his "work". That's all fine, even being a struggling artist, I was happy for him. The problem came when he compared himself to being on the same level as me. At 6 years old I was a better artist than many high school level art students. I was born with a talent that he will never be able to understand and there he was bragging about being a better artist because he was making more money than I was. It was bad enough that these oil paintings where people just splash some paint on canvas were selling for thousands, and nobody wanted to pay more than $20 for a portrait of Janis Joplin (or other various dead rock stars I had done) done entirely in chalk. The last thing I needed was that jerk with a random image generator claiming he was on par with my natural born talent. A.I. wasn't out yet, so I guess I was lucky for that.
