I love Penrose's views. They make sense to me. I get that the AI buffs don't like them cause they want to trust in something greater and many of them deny God's existence but I just don't believe if you add enough zeroes and computational power, quantum or not, that you can self-create some conscious being. You would be describing what you don't believe in, which is a creator God. I'm just a simple guy but it seems intuitive to me and I find this whole discussion fascinating and interesting. Can't get enough of Roger.
