If there is a demon prevailing in our societies it is money. Money has become an obsession and will probably bury us all even before a nuclear war or just simply AI. In other words, we are destroying ourselves through our constant greed or worry for money.
Take away money and the worries enslaving us by it and all the threats against us we have created will disappear like a dark cloud in the sky.
Only true wisdom can save us and a rational mind would certainly recognize this, but who is really so wise or rational in his mind as to distance himself from the fatal lure to money and power?
Unfortunately the majority of human beings are prone to be corruptible if the price is right and this could be our true extinction risk.
