If that many people are out of employment, not receiving a reasonable salary, potentially claiming welfare, which will only allow them to live below the breadline level, who will be purchasing all the services and products provided by AI based technologies? Will they be that cheap that welfare will provide a decent living, to the standard many of us are used to at the moment? If it is that cheap how much profit will be made by the companies that are using these technologies? Surely taking a big chunk out of the economic cycle - the demand side - is going to limit the extent to which these technologies are applied? Or does it mean that a shrinking world population won't be such a bad thing after all?
