I work in the automotive manufacturing industry as one of the guys implementing and maintaining these new automated systems, and I see every year more and more positions being replaced by automation. I keep telling to workers they really need to learn some new skills and adapt because they don't have much time left. Within 5 to 10 years (in my opinion) we will have fully or near fully automated factories and most of these people will be without jobs.
