From a legal standpoint, the question is: Do we treat the AI model like a person or like a Xerox machine? If we treat it like a Xerox machine, it's the end user that's responsible for what they do with it. If we treat it like a person, then the AI itself is responsible but then you have no one to sue when someone comes along and asks it, "Put Elsa in the background of this image.".
