Sal is awesome but it is sad seeing that after all those years, he still doesn't get it. The paradigm of coercive schooling is fundamentally broken and no amount of tinkering, AI-powered or otherwise, is going to fix it. We need to abolish the 'coercion' in schooling, i.e. the paradigm that we can and should force students to learn and force them to learn what we think students should or need to learn.
The new paradigm is free learning, self-learning, democratic education where passions actually drive every student's learning. We need to let go of the power and empower students to say NO to whatever does not interest them.
