The ban was so absurd even from what should be the perspective of the AI companies, that we have a very uncertain prediction of what AI technology will be in 5-10 years. Isn't OpenAI ostensibly trying to build an AGI that can replace all human labor? They really don't think there should be rules about what other companies can do once they're 80% of the way there?
