I know it's not the same as the situation of providing feedback to AI, but I feel like I've witnessed the flip flop of alignment just in testing out the AI that's been attached to Google search engine. I search something and find the AI provides me with an answer that has a rather colonial perspective. I wasn't surprised, but still, EUGH. So I tried a statement that challenged the colonial lens. The AI quickly found info online to agree with me. I know it's different to the feedback situation talked about here, in that the AI is finding info from online sources that will have different perspectives. It just felt so eerily relatable to what Hank is describing. People pleasing in AI... O-oh
