Data centers are profitable, if AI falls flat Data centers and nuclear power plants are still good, they will be used for something. It would boost innovation all over the world if Cloud prices were dirt cheap due to oversupply. Big companies would be able to get sick deals and thus save, and it wouldn’t be the wort as they could then offer better prices, etc.
the fact is, what’s being invested in is not useless infrastructure no matter how you slice it. Also, all the infrastructure would totally improve AI, don’t think we’re getting AGI anytime soon, but the current AI is DUMB, and that’s obviously enough to replace some people, but then, one the AI is NORMAL, then they can replace a lot more people. There’s plenty to do out there, people will find something to do, it’s that complicated. What Im more concerned about genuinely is AI safety, and this thing going rouge and taking everyone out. AINIS THE GREAT FILTER. That’s why all these billionaires have been getting doomsday bunkers, Im more concerned that they fully intend to take us all out.
