Driverless vehicles I believe should be outlawed. Too many complications can arise in many different traffic situations without a driver at the controls.
A very good transportation Bill for technology to the U.S. Secretary of Transportation , or our U.S. Congressman or Senators in our districts is -
A mandate to install front end distance motion sensors and side motion sensors on all commercial vehicles trucks and buses , and automobiles at the manufacturing plants.
These are on vehicles with drivers.
The front end distance sensor disengages the accelerator approaching another vehicle in the same lane at about 30 yards. This spreads out the traffic and reduces wrecks.
A much better distance for the government to set them at is -
Somewhere between 70 & 100 yards for commercial vehicles trucks & buses , and between 30 & 50 yards for automobiles.
The side motion sensor notify's the driver whenever their vehicle begins to drift into another lane.
Both these motion sensors have already been operational for more than a decade in some transportation company's and some automobiles.
