I think he tries to compare apples to oranges, this isnt a industrial revolution, where over a long period of time we upgraded tech in some industries, that required people to advance up to learn to use new tools and be more productive.
AI, replaces human intelligence mixed with taking over humans tools across everything, not one industry the entire economy at same time, plus at 1000 times faster, not allowing the demographics to adjust..
So im afraid to say AI scales so much faster than a human can adjust too, let alone the consumption collapse that will happen before any adjustments that may arise can be viable. Also you not even addressing, physology UBI wint work, humans need purpose goals and challenges to be happy, we learned this in covid which is a tiny experiment, its basically welfare to not grow.
