as a musician, I feel the same way about AI generated music. Had a talk with someone who genuinely felt like they were creating art by prompting ChatGPT to write up a song and lay out chord progressions, even to have the AI sing and perform the music. When listening, it's like...there's no actual creativity going on, there's no clever use of dynamics or intricate solos, deviations that make it feel alive. It's just straight, linear, not risky, and flat. It's /boring/
As human beings, a lot of the creative process is just filtering emotions into given points, and adjusting them after the fact after that emotion has passed, it helps guide our decision for what looks, feels, and sounds good.
AI has a place, it really does, it can help conversationally filter the vast catalogue of information the internet has, acting a sort of well informed friend that can help you float ideas you might not have thought of, it's wonderful in that regard.
Generatively speaking? It's soulless, and anyone who believes that AI can make art as good as a human needs to get their head out of their ass and realize you can't program creativity, it's a personal expression of an individual, or group.
