I think it's ppl who create echo chambers, AI for now can only amplify and exploit this trait. Cultural contexts such as tribalism and group identity make this a critical issue. Ironically, I can image a scenario where AI will actually resolve this being an issue, if AI is sufficiently intelligent, broadly aligned, and core principles are uncompromised, then if such an AI plays pivotal role in governing processes, then the issue of human stupidity and limits becomes less critical.
