You have not heard every argument or you wouldn't be talking out against ai. My first issue is you assuming they were "told" they couldn't do it when it was their own conclusion. Second this same panic happened with cameras and other tools that made art easier. 3rd, what's needed is a means to use ai that personalize how they can make art. I know people see it as theft, but that's just every tutorial ever. Not everyone drawing an anime girl head is being creative or unique. People are just putting up the strict distinction of tracing. If people did steal art and then photoshopped heavily, would you still have an issue? Can you give an example. Why doesn't this apply to collages or pop art or dadaism? There are more conversations to be had before we get to ai. 3d art being one as well.
