When the AI 2027 report was released and amplifyed by the media all I kept thinking was how it mirrored the Cold War rhetoric. But we aren't living in a world that has only two big polars anymore. Yes, China is a big player economically and has AI but people fail to discuss that a lot of systems tied to AI in the US depend on other countries, like UK and Israel. And each country is choosing how to regulate AI within their jurisdiction.
So honestly the US is the place where AI will have the worst impacts (the destruction of middle class jobs, essentially)
