"Art is the expression of a relationship/s through a medium". As an artist thats howniv always defined and quantified it to my friends and colleagues.
So no, AI isn't art and can't do art and never will in its current iliteration. It copies the output of artists expression without feeling or knowing. Its just an algorithm that steals technical data.Totally agree.
The only expression is from the viewer of said "Ai art" (slop) their emotional responses validate the piece. They express art through how it makes them feel. But it's a lie, there is no exchange of relationship. Ultimately a machine randomly created something by stealing from actual artists and someone picked the best one and put it online.
Sad times.
