I am an artist that's been making a living from it for some 10 years now - And I am pretty Pro AI - and want it to become a proper Tool. However, it's pretty far off atm. do not want to stop what I love doing, which is moving my pen and making lines, to type some words in a website - get very noisy or low resoultion output that doesn't even look like I made it (in which case it is not useful at all, no different than googling for a reference). I want it in my Art tools that I already work in, complimenting what I do, saving me time. It's been really hard to actually use the Pixels that AI makes for anything without painting over them significantly. There are some tools that are getting decent, like Inpainting in Krita that can actually learn from your own drawing and extend it. Also, ChatGPT images are horrible, I don't see how anyone would use it as a "tool" the Image Quality makes me vomit, vasiline smeared yellow paint.
