1. This being an issue is like saying CNC machines take jobs from machinists who used lathes and other manual tools to make parts. Or perhaps like saying farm equipment takes jobs from farm hands. Ideally this opens up fewer higher level jobs and offers more free time for creative expression and innovation for those that have them. That should advance our culture and civilization. The real issue is how we mitigate the impact on humans not whether or not we should do it.
2. It's based on how humans learn and how we take data from an artist's work to replicate it. This should drive innovation as artists find new mediums and styles that AI has trouble creating. It also makes it easier for those with disabilities to make artwork that their physical limitations might normally make very difficult. Much like how typewriters made it easier for people to write readable letters and documents.
