I don't blame AI itself because sure, it's a technology and can be used appropriately and not. I do VERY MUCH blame the tech CEOs who have been relentless in pushing this technology as reliable and capable of much more than it can actually do. They are encouraging inappropriate uses, whether explicitly or with more plausible deniability, because it helps them sell the product. It's grossly irresponsible, not that they care.
