The most fundamental flaw in the way we speak about AI, is that we personify a giant machine. It doesn’t “care”, “think”, “realize” . Those are features of awareness. AI just regurgitates info in different possible ways. It doesn’t think at all, words and information are just getting paired with other words and concepts and then sent back to us. We then assume that these words have an awareness behind them, as they have in the past. But AI is just taking the stuff we already have made for it, and automating it back to us. We gotta stop personifying these current machines. I think people start to assume they’re alive b/c the way we talk about them.
