I am an AI expert too. I just don't sit around a table. The issue is really simple. Greedy people with a greedy need for more land, more money and more power who can't give that up and AI will be used to give them more of those things.
AI isn't the problem.
It's the relentless greed and selfish stupidity of the richest people on the planet who are to blame.
