One of my buddies got really into it.
I just offered to teach him the basics of drawing characters. He took me up on it and once the dopamine of figuring out little tricks to improve his art started happening, he got what I meant by "art IS the process" and started actually seeing the issues with AI images
He hasn't stopped USING the programs, but he mainly just uses them for color picking and ideas now, and has been really drawing more and more. I'm proud of my buddy
