hey lavender towne, i know ill probably just get lost in the sea of comments, but id really like to hear your opinion on ai generated code. as a programmer / armature game dev, i use ai to help me code a lot. not for generating the whole program, but for stuff like "oh how do i make that algorithm again?" etc. a lot of people open source their work (myself included) and its far more difficult to steal code than art, so there should be a lot of uncopyrighted data that the ai can train on. that said, i do think that people use it way too much and now 40% of the code out there is ai slop. obviously ai art, music, and even videos can and do plagiarize, but id really like to hear what you have to say about ai stuff that isnt necessarily plagiarized
