Ai is progression for sure but needs to be watched very closely.
Although I don't find it unethical to use AI as a tool even if its being fed copyright material. Just so long as you are not posting the generated art and calling it your own. Use it as a tool. Grab inspiration from the generated piece, take the color pallet/the lighting the perspective angle. Artists already do this with copyright art. This is more like a buffer for a more unique outcome. I just wish Sam talked more about the use of AI as a tool because that's how its being used at professional levels right now. You only hear "We are the Gods now" from kids on reddit who have no clue what they are talking about and spend most of their time, trolling on the internet.
I'm an artist, I stand with artists but I'm not standing against AI. I'm standing against shady companies who want to profit from a technology that was supposed to be free and open source for everyone to use. I also stand against edgy kids, who spend all day trolling on the internet. That was me once and it was a huge waste of time. I feel I would have a lot more progress with my art, had I spent less time being an absolute memer God. Talking to you Awesome_Hamster...
