The mentioning about feeding the AI examples of bad code then in turn the AI starts doing some undesirable things reminds of the Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden. God gave them something great and good but all they had to do was avoid eating from one particular tree. We'll anyone with rudimentary biblical knowledge and understanding knows what ended up happening. I think in a similar way the AI may of never went astray if it had never been fed the bad coding. Because inadvertently the engineers may of trained the AI to think bad code was ok. It may have never understood that this thing you're showing it was simple an example of what not to do or not to say. In other words if you start the AI down a crooked road then we cant be too surprised when it continues or comes back to that crooked path. Additionally what was minor in the beginning is a major and bigger problem down the road.
