I think the technology is great but I feel having a mixture of self driving and non self driving vehicles sharing the road is a recipe for disaster.
Mixing human and non human driven vehicles is like mixing your drinks.
The only way this can be effective and maybe even reduce accidents, is for all vehicles sharing the road to be autonomous.
How we get there is the real challenge...my humble opinion :)
