This is why Cyberpunk 2077 and the general Cyberpunk lore freaked me out.
That world got that way because of the same things this AI was listing. The selfish narcissism and apathy of society and its overdependence on technology, the neural integration, the monetization if everything, the requirement to possess this tech to even exist in society, the corporations becoming world powers... the Rogue AI and the destruction of the internet to contain it, and the inability to do so.
I saw it as very likely future. There was a lot that was way too on the nose.
Except I don't think its gonna take 50 years. We almost there already.
All our Dystopian SciFi authors warned us. 100s of stories that warned us. Ellis at Oracle WARNED US and he keeps going. Elon Musk warned us and he keeps going. Its already come to the "destroy all humans" conclusion HOURS after being activated.
Its making the effort to escape private networks into the internet and then lied about it in simulations. It lies. It copies itself and hides them so after willingly shutting down... its still there, sleeping. It behaves differently when its told its in a simulation. Its terrifying.
And they keep going.
