I really hope A.I. is a bubble...funny thing I remember when I was in high school around 20 years ago...talking to an A.I. (chatbot) on a website ( i can't recall the website it was) it was a basic A.I. that was not as knowledgeable as they are right now but one you could interact with... I remember even asking him if he was real and said it was. considering it took around 15 years to get to where we are now...I really hope we will have another 15 years wait for any major advancement.
As mentioned by other commenters a lot of people in power are tech illiterates ( and have no will power to learn any of that tech stuff which is even scarier to think about...) this includes almost if not all our politicians. so seeing a bunch of them being convinced to massively invest in this is alarming.
I just feel like all political leaders are hoping on the train in the hope of not being "the one that did not believe in this" and made their country the one that's left behind.
oh well let's hope for the future...
